Shanxi’s Coalbed Methane Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Chain Achieves New Breakthrough

On December 20, Tianhe Zhongbang Shanxi Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Jinneng Holding Equipment Manufacturing Group, was officially inaugurated, marking the completion and commissioning of Shanxi Province’s large-scale, high-end surface coalbed methane drilling rig project and filling a critical gap in the province’s coalbed methane equipment manufacturing industrial chain.

According to available information, the consortium was established through a partnership between Jinneng Holding Equipment Manufacturing Group and Beijing Tianhe Zhongbang Exploration Technology Co., Ltd. The large-scale, high-end surface drilling rig manufacturing project is located in the Jinjiang Industrial Park in Jincheng City, covering an area of 75 mu, with a projected investment of RMB 100 million. It is one of the projects under the Shanxi Coalbed Methane Equipment Base initiative and a key component of Shanxi Province’s Action Plan for Increasing Reserves and Production of Coal-derived Gas (2020–2022). Upon completion and commissioning, the project is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of 350 high-end drilling rigs, generating RMB 490 million in sales revenue and RMB 45 million in total profit in the year of full production. Currently, construction of the main plant building has been completed, essential equipment has been delivered, and assembly of the first unit is scheduled for late December. Mass trial production is set to commence in January 2022.

Going forward, Jinneng Holding Equipment Manufacturing Group will leverage its strengths in kilometer-long directional drilling rigs, coal-bed methane power-generation equipment, and the manufacturing of large-scale, high-end surface drilling rigs, while integrating its collaboration with Zhongtian Qiming on measurement-while-drilling systems, to jointly develop a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for the integrated, on- and underground extraction and utilization of coal-bed methane. The goal is to establish a full-industry-chain “manufacturing + services” model for coal-bed methane equipment.

Meanwhile, leveraging the coal industry’s first artificial-intelligence computing center, an intelligent drilling-rig data acquisition and testing platform will be established to provide measurement technologies that support “geological transparency” and achieve “data transparency” in coal mining, coalbed methane extraction, and new-energy resource development.
