Shanxi Province’s Large-Scale Surface Coalbed Methane High-End Drilling Rig Project Comes Online
On December 20, Shanxi Province’s first large-scale, high-end surface coalbed methane drilling rig project was commissioned at the Jinjiang Industrial Park in Jincheng City, thereby filling a gap in Shanxi’s coalbed methane equipment manufacturing industrial chain. On the same day, Tianhe Zhongbang Shanxi Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Jinneng Holding Equipment Manufacturing Group, was officially inaugurated.
Under the “dual carbon” goals, Shanxi Province is accelerating efforts to increase reserves and production of coalbed methane while promoting its wider adoption, thereby raising the bar for coalbed methane extraction equipment and creating an urgent need to establish a high-end coalbed methane equipment manufacturing industrial chain. As a frontrunner in the national energy revolution, Jinneng Holding Group is vigorously advancing the equipment manufacturing sector toward higher value-added segments, expanding market reach, and strengthening service capabilities. To this end, the group has partnered with Beijing Tianhe Zhongbang Exploration Technology Co., Ltd. to establish a specialized company, which is driving the completion and commissioning of Shanxi’s first large-scale, high-end surface coalbed methane drilling rig project.
Located in the Jinjiang Industrial Park in Jincheng City, the project covers an area of 75 mu and is slated for an investment of RMB 100 million. It is a key project under Shanxi Province’s Action Plan for Increasing Reserves and Production of Coalbed Methane (2020–2022). Upon commissioning and reaching full capacity, the project is expected to produce 350 high-end drilling rigs annually, generating RMB 490 million in sales revenue and total profits of RMB 45 million.
Looking ahead, Jinneng Holding Equipment Manufacturing Group will leverage its strengths in kilometer-long directional drilling rigs, coal-bed methane power-generation equipment, and the manufacturing of large-scale, high-end surface drilling rigs, while integrating the measurement-while-drilling system co-developed with Zhongtian Qiming Co., Ltd., to jointly create a comprehensive, three-dimensional, end-to-end solution for the on- and underground extraction and utilization of coal-bed methane. This initiative will establish a full-industry-chain “manufacturing + services” model for coal-bed methane equipment. At the same time, drawing on the nation’s first artificial-intelligence computing center dedicated to the coal industry, the group will build an intelligent drilling-rig data-acquisition and testing platform to provide measurement technologies that enable “geological transparency,” thereby achieving “data transparency” across coal mining, coal-bed methane extraction, and new-energy resource development.
