2018: Status of the Ministry of Science and Technology Research Project—Development of China’s First Intelligent Core Drilling Rig
In 2018, Tianhe Zhongbang Co., Ltd. was assigned the research and development task for a “multi-process automated core drilling rig” under the Belt and Road International Cooperation Project titled “Joint R&D and Demonstration of Key Technologies and Equipment for Polymetallic Ore Core Drilling,” which had been approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The company developed an intelligent drilling rig capable of parametric drilling and automatic tripping of 6-meter diamond core drill rods, thereby not only setting the direction for the development of domestic core drilling rigs but also promoting the adoption and application of China’s core drilling technology in countries along the Belt and Road.
This drilling rig enables automated drilling in three modes: constant pressure, constant speed, and fixed penetration rate.
